    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a George C. Baker patent, dated February 27, 1883. This wire is called "Baker's Flat Two-Point Barb on Round & Herringbone Round Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 229-B). This wire features two round line wires twisted together. The non barbed line has a continuous scored or herringbone pattern on one side. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around the non scored line. This sample is 18" in length and has five barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows light age wear, with minimal pitting. There are no bent, broken or missing barbs. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
